Bowring Foot Pedal for Shrutibox
The foot pedal enables you to pump the bellows of your shrutibox with your foot while keeping the hands free. That way you can accompany yourself with the shrutibox while playing another instrument, e.g. guitar, flute, violin, or percussion. The only condition: the shrutibox must be able to stand stably on its own.
The Bowring Pedal works fine with the following shrutiboxes:
- Monoj Kumar Sardar small
- Monoj Kumar Sardar medium
- Monoj Kumar Sardar large
The Bowring Pedal does NOT work with the following shrutiboxes:
- Paloma small
- Paloma large
The foot pedal is basically suitable for the Monoj Kumar Sardar Triple Shrutibox. However it tips over when played with the Bowring Pedal, if it is not held firmly. This problem can be solved by attaching rotating wooden foot plates. Suitable foot plates from our large Paloma shrutiboxes are available from us on request.
A heavy stainless steel base plate ensures high stability, rubber coating on the upper side prevents slipping, and the fine coordination of the components guarantees noise-free movements of the mechanism. The main body of the pedal and the end of the traction device are made of solid wood. Including screws for permanent use and assembly instructions.
The Bowring foot pedal has been invented by engineer and musical instrument maker Richard Bowring in 2012. Each pedal is hand-made by Richard at his workshop in the Netherlands. It meets high European quality standards.
