The clear, bell-like tone of the Narayan Badya Bhandar Premium tabla fulfils the highest professional demands. We offer it with diameters between 5 and 6 inches (= 12.70 to 15.24 cm) in pitches from low G to high F. Details below under size / pitch.
The chrome-plated Narayan Badya Bhandar Standard baya is made of copper and weighs 2.5 - 3 kg. The carefully crafted head gives it a dynamic and balanced tone. Standard diameter 9 inches (= 22.86 cm).

5 ¼ inch: d - e
5 ½ inch: c - d
5 ¾ inch: A - c
6 inches: G - A
Tablas should NOT be left permanently at maximum pitch to prevent cracks in the skin.
Tablas can also be played significantly lower than the specified maximum tuning pitches.
Larger or smaller dayans for special pitches can be custom-made on request.
Selection tips:
- The smaller the diameter, the higher the pitch.
- Small tablas are difficult to play cleanly with large hands. Conversely, large tablas are difficult to play with small hands.
- Practising clean fingering is easier on a larger tabla.
